  1. Keep in contact
    It is important to always engage with your clients; CAUTION!!! this is not an indication to spam your customers with random junk mail as this can seriously cause damage to the relationship you have with the customer. Rather sending your client relevant information that meets their needs and wants will keep them engaged. Also, sending them relevant newsletters, emails, tweets and the use of  your social media platform are easy ways for staying connected and keeping in contact with your customers.databases
  2. Provide support
    Providing support to customers when needed or being proactive and checking on them randomly whether they need support is another great way to maintaining a stronger and long lasting relationship with your customers. This action gives the customer the confidence and assurance that they are valued and you are available to assist should they need your assistance. Do note that support does not necessarily mean only assisting when things go wrong,  support can be in offered in a wide range of ways such as offering helpful information, industry related insight, news updates, advice, and even technical assistance.
  3. Treat each customer as a individual
    Treating each customer as an individual is another great way to maintain a healthy and long lasting relationship with them. Customers like to feel valued. Customers also will appreciate simple acts such as receiving from you a birthday or a holiday cards, or even again a random non business related but customer appreciation call or email. Sending cards to your customers will express how grateful you are for them and their business thus helping your company strengthen its personal relationship with them.
  4. Seek customer opinions
    Another way to maintain relations with your customers is to seek their opinion or advice about your business or services offered. This action has a two sided benefit. As a business you can gain much insight from your customers through this action, whilst the same action shows to the customers that the your business respects and values their opinion. A few great ways to get customer opinion are through; surveys, online discussion questions, personal phone calls, and in-person meetings. By involving customers, you give them a way to become involved and make their voices heard. Because of this action the customer feels that they are a part of the company, and will offer valuable feedback on what is working and what needs to be improved with your business or services.
  5. Be Genuine with your customers
    This we think is the most important point out of all that we have discussed here. Integrity is the key to maintaining a long lasting customer relationships. Stretching the truth about your products or services in any way can seriously ruin your reputation with your customers or clients. Rather your customers will appreciate you more when you are honest and realistic about any service or product that your business offers, the worst thing you can do as a business is to make false promises.
