DECLARE A STATE OF EMERGENCY TO CURB ILLEGAL MINING

EMH Global calls on government to declare the fight against illegal mining popularly known as galamsey, as a state of emergency in order to safeguard our tomorrow and preserve our land for the sake of the next generation.

EMH Global, an Integrated Communications Agency in Ghana with offices in the UK, USA and Indian, has joined in the campaign to stop illegal mining popularly known as Galamsey in Ghana. We believe the time to stop this menace which threatens to destroy all our water bodies and our environment is now.

The Ghana water company Ltd has said that the activities of these illegal miners have led to the shutdown of some water treatment plants as the water has become untreatable. There is even the fear that very soon, Ghana may have to import water from neighbouring countries. Also, media reports indicate that many farm lands have been destroyed as a result of illegal mining. These are also coupled with associate health hazards caused by the chemicals use by the illegal miners.

We invite other organisations and individuals across Ghana to add their voice to the #stopgalamseynow.
